(Lars Penning)

Dieser Film läuft im Rahmen des Screenings EXPERIENCES BEYOND.

On Bastille Day, all Sergeant Lafleur (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart) can think about is turning his gun on himself. A military doctor (Eric Cantona) gives him brief respite from service, which he spends at a cabaret show, mesmerised by one of the singers, before dawn brings him back to the barracks. Lebanese artist Ali Cherri’s first film with professional actors treats their bodies like his own sculptures of sand and mud. Lafleur drifts through a nocturnal, artificial world populated by statuesque figures, a fragile refuge from the structures of discipline and domination of our war-filled times. (Antoine Thirion)
