Chantal Kaufmann beweist es: Der Experimentalfilm lebt – und wie er lebt! Gedankenströme jagen durch Bewegtbilder, ein ruhiger Mittelteil erdet. Geräusche und Worte verweben sich vor unseren Augen zu einem Gedicht über Zugehörigkeit, ehe erneut schnelle Schnitte Gedächtnisbilder und Assoziationen evozieren: eine Autofahrt, Erinnerungen an einen Bruder, der über Tauben sprach und die Frage, welche Dinge eine Stadt repräsentieren, und wie? Grenzen verwischen, Berge versinken im Wasser und Gedanken flitzen wie Kugeln im Flipperautomaten. (Maria Marchetta)

That is its beauty, and sometimes its only luxury. IMAGINE LANGUAGE portrays three days, three pieces of time that shape their own communication. Images and sounds coming directly from the light and temperature of this world; a poem, snatched from someone while they write on a computer; a series of subtitles that move the way thoughts do when they flow freely and anxiously in every direction.
