As the title indicates, ]]>Self-Examination Remote Control]]> is a kind of self-portrait, evolving from the interplay of camera and remote control (with voice-over). We watch a serious teenager suffering from a painful identity crisis, as she is busy operating the film equipment. The film documents a possibly inevitable phase of cinematographic narcissism, as can often be observed in the early work of budding filmmakers. (Eve Heller)
