Slow Shift

By the Tungabhadra River in Hampi, India, there is a landscape where three presences coexist: giant rocks, langurs and the Vijayanagara archaeological site, the former “city of victory” that was the centre of an empire. The shape of what we see has been in the making for centuries: the rocks piled in odd ways, by nature and by humans alike. The monkeys are witnesses and guardians of these forms. Is this the end of the world? Or the beginning of a new one? These graceful creatures are the choreographers of all we see and hear in SLOW SHIFT. (Lucía Salas)
