Powerful footage from Yugoslavia’s final socialist youth festivities forms the core of Marta Popivoda’s new film, bursting into tightly composed views from the modernist housing blocks of New Belgrade. Three decades later, prima ballerina Sonja Vukejic still practices in a gymnasium while a teenager at the window suggests a fleeting incarnation of the thoughts of a girl in the 1980s.
