Garcia lets three young women run through the motions of Nadine Nortier’s performance in Bresson’s MOUCHETTE. What happens is a small miracle. Each of the street-cast actors expresses individual feelings as the gestures bring us closer to their respective beings, so different from each other despite following the same movements. Bresson already knew this: “If (…) the gestures you have made them make have become one with your models, with your film, with you – then a miracle.“ (Patrick Holzapfel)
