Ich will nicht gefilmt werden, sondern selber filmen
I don’t want to be filmed but rather shoot myself
A response to Christiana Perschon’s artist portrait FRIEDL and shot during the same encounter, ICH WILL NICHT GEFILMT WERDEN, SONDERN SELBER FILMEN documents a private screening of Friedl vom Gröller’s ever-expanding masterpiece MAX TURNHEIM, that takes an odd turn as the relationship between observer and observed shifts. The camera moves from a mirror showing her own reflection, to Perschon’s attentive viewing of her work, to the blinding light of the projector and finally to the film projected onto their two bodies. This meeting of peers thus becomes a delicate play on the idea of projection. (Salvador Amores)
