Gleichzeitig nackt

Naked, before a backdrop of painted clouds and facing the camera, the directors dance to Strauss’ “An der schönen blauen Donau”. Their choreography has two gestures: three swings of the hips followed by a single step; the concise movements create an alienating contrast with the unmistakably Viennese tune. GLEICHZEITIG NACKT is the remake of a lost Super 8 film the duo made in 1985. The years between these two films invite reflection on aging bodies, changing eras and new ways of filmmaking, yet the waltz goes on: a dance for things that were and things that remain the same.
