Brute Force

Taking its title from a cyber security term (a hacking method used to gain access to user accounts), BRUTE FORCE explores the imbalance between complex technologies and the intellectual power of the individual at a time when humans seem to have lost connection with their own progress. The film is conspicuously without people. Filmed in a silicon mine, data centres and on a salt lake, a monotone voice reflects on the confusion between the real and the invented. The electronic sound mix injects a trembling, high-pitched atmosphere into this elegiac ballad. (Anna Katharina Laggner)
