Ein Parkplatz am Stadtrand von Palermo. Während Pläne für die weitere Nacht geschmiedet werden, versuchen jugendliche Motorrad-Helden mit ihren Wheelies anzugeben – untermalt von dröhnenden Bässen, die aus getunten Autos dringen. Die chaotisch-lauten Bilder kontrastierend, spricht eine sanfte Frauenstimme ein Liebesgedicht der amerikanischen Autorin Magdalena Zurawski, das dem Film auch seinen Titel gibt. Gibson und Gordon blicken mit zarter Empathie auf diese heterogene Gemeinschaft: „The streets were banknotes—rich densities of flesh adjacent to freedom.“ (Bernd Brehmer)

Shot on the outskirts of their adopted home in Palermo, Sicily, DA QUALCHE PARTE NELLA TUA BOCCA is the latest experiment in juxtaposition by English artists Beatrice Gibson and Nick Gordon, subtly reconfiguring codes of masculinity and queerness through their tightly composed 16mm images and contrapuntal sound. Setting the pulsing energy of youth, hot rods and after-dark camaraderie to the evocative and equally sensual words of American poet Magdalena Zurawski, the film’s brief five minutes open up entire worlds of velocity, desire and ecstasy.
