Shocked by her husband’s sudden departure, Teresa embarks on a mission to find out what happened. Instead of finding answers, her mission becomes a journey through the streets and homes of the people she meets. Her son, Gabino, is in the military and spends his time conducting car searches with fellow soldier Alberto. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Oscar – nicknamed Goliat – lives the life of a social outcast because the word is he killed his girlfriend. Blending fiction and documentary, Teresa’s wanderings offer a portrait of Huilotepec and its inhabitants. Constructed through characters and the village’s corporeal landscape, we drift with Teresa among spaces and people suffering the effects of lost loved ones, broken promises, disconnection and eternal longing.
