JUST ANYBODY
Camille, a girl in her twenties, is trying to bring a little light and levity to her life, which she views as inadequate and futile. She wants to escape the ugliness of reality. Her blind quest leads her to Costa, an expert in drifting and inconsistency: a bad father, a bad son, a bad lover and an unloved guy who arouses only suspicion and fear, certainly not love. And since he is just anybody, he could be just any bastard, unworthy at first sight of the least interest or affection. There is an immediate clash between them, a violent incident, but at the same time, she moves towards him. She will not give him a break until he apologizes, giving her something else to pursue. Getting to know just anybody can bring her light, and she knows it. She decides to follow him and not see him as simply the first guy who happens along. On the way, she meets Cyril, a cop intrigued by her behavior and Costa's childhood friend. Cyril follows the two of them because the girl has told him about the violent incident and he believes her; also because this unusual girl interests him a great deal. (Jacques Doillon)
