One summer, five young Beijingers take to the Yangtze River for a weekend break. They are joined by a childhood friend, who has become a smalltown cop. While lazing around on the riverbank, they find a note, which says «Love you till I die». It becomes a catalyst for wild speculation, dissent and distrust to break out among the group. Something between a thriller and a love story, Weekend Plot is an odd riff on Antonionis LAventura and The Blair Witch Project, by Zhang Ming, one of the few new Chinese directors to employ a truly modern technique.
