JIE WO YI SHENG

Hard Old Rock is an intimate and respectful documentary which portrays the striking 83-year-old countryman Zheng. As a young man, he was a bon vivant who’d rather spend his time gambling and dancing than studying. This exuberant way of life comes to an end when he is charged with being a counterrevolutionary and sentenced to prison. Today, he lives in the beadhouse in Shuanglin and spends his lonely life visiting an old friend and complaining about the government.
