In La frontera infinita, Mexican director Juan Manuel Sepúlveda paints a heartfelt portrait of the men and women who leave various Central American countries in search of better opportunities, knowing well that they have everything to lose. Through its lyrical and poetic narrative, the film seeks to express the desolation and bitterness as well as the hopes and the combined experiences of children, women and adolescents, who attempt to reach and cross the longed-for northern border of Mexico.
