Cavale starts with a prison break and is initially set up as a thriller. Bruno (played by the director), one of the escapees, sets out to find and, presumably, kill a gangland leader. However, it becomes clear that our protagonist is no ordinary criminal trying to avenge past wrongs, but has a rich and disturbing past involving political resistance. His search brings him into contact with characters with their own stories in the two other films. With the police in pursuit, Bruno struggles to find his man. (Piers Handling)
