Anthony Loder, son of Austrian-born screen goddess Hedy Lamarr, who died in 2000 at the age of 86, is our passionate guide to this portrait of his mother, which uses a variety of approaches, all more or less indispensable but none of which truly provide a three-dimensional portrait. Lost instances of a life that certain aspects of her personality made exceptional, but which will forever remain a mystery, and about which few of us today have anything more than the most fragmentary of memories.
