Music for Solo Performer

Taking composer Alvin Lucier’s experiments using alpha waves to create music as a starting point, Jenny Brady weaves diverse threads of found footage into a hypnotising meditation that feels like a dream and touches on essential qualities of sound and image. What connects these visions of a Jerry Lewis Telethon, the first pizza ordered with an artificial voice and the examination of a brain is not only an idea of technology in relation to care work but also the sense that a time-based medium like cinema links together its elements through waves we don’t see, but rather feel.
