Vetre, pričaj sa mnom

Ein Familienfilm par excellence. Stefan, Regisseur und Protagonist, dreht eine Dokumentation über seine krebskranke Mutter, die sich vor ihrem Tod in die Natur zurückgezogen hat. Das unvollendete Projekt versucht er mit seiner restlichen Familie generationenübergreifend zu einem Essay über deren eigene Geschichten, Träume und Erinnerungen zu verdichten. Aus der dabei erzeugten visuellen Kraft entsteht ein zeitloser Zustand, der zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart nicht unterscheidet und eine spirituelle Einheit schafft, die ohne überhöhende Esoterik oder gar Naturmystik auskommt. Grieving the loss of his mother, Stefan travels to his family home in the Serbian countryside. He spends time with his brother and grandparents, fixes up the house and nurses a stray dog he accidentally hit on the road. His quiet routine—filled with memories, pain, melancholy, silence and care for others—becomes a way to stay connected to a world that feels familiar, yet irrevocably different. Originally conceived as a portrait of his mother, Stefan Djordjevic’s VETRE, PRIČAJ SA MNOM shifted direction after her passing. Blending first and third person perspectives through his performance, the work transcends the boundaries of so-called autofiction. Weaving together documentary footage of his mother and semi-fictionalised observations of life without her, Djordjevic transforms the film into an autonomous vehicle of memory, introspection, reverie and release. Cinematic language itself becomes a pure imprint of presence and absence, physicality and immateriality and the liminal spaces in between. A deeply personal work of profound intimacy, tenderness and humility, it shares these qualities with the audience as something beyond individual experience, expressed in a form that is both sensitive and restrained.
