Desde siempre

Während die Filme der chilenischen Regisseurinnen der 1980er Jahre bei ihrem Erscheinen oft heftig unterschätzt wurden, gelang Marialy Rivas etwa fünfzehn Jahre später ein echter Coup. Ihr als Studienarbeit gedrehter Film um einige queere Menschen schlug in der die Homosexualität komplett tabuisierenden Gesellschaft heftig ein und wurde auf vielen Festivals gezeigt. Für Regisseurin und Protagonist:innen war diese erfreuliche Öfentlichkeit nicht immer einfach. Faszinierend jenseits des Themas die Reenactment-Strategien des semidokumentarischen Films. The debut film by Marialy Rivas, a classmate of Sebastián Lelio at the legendary Chilean Film School, DESDE SIEMPRE has long been considered one of the first Chilean productions to openly embrace sexual diversity as a central theme.
