Born in Vienna in 1970, is an Austrian screenwriter and film director. He studied psychology and painting at the University of Vienna as well as film and video at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the class of Nan Hoover. He then completed a film and television course at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. In 2005 he received a scholarship for Drehbuchwerkstatt München, where he developed the script for his debut feature WAS DU NICHT SIEHST. Since 1999 he is also directing for Westdeutscher Rundfunk WDR. His film STYX won several awards at international festivals, including the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at this year's Berlinale.
