Vincent Macaigne is a French actor and filmmaker. In 1999 he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique de Paris, where he studied with Joël Jouanneau, Catherine Marnas, Claude Buchwald and Muriel Mayette. He staged his first piece "Requiem 3" in 2007 and performed it again at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in 2011. With IDIOT! in 2009 he became known to a larger audience. At the Avignon Festival in 2011, he staged an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet entitled AU MOINS J'AURAI LAISSÉ UN BEAU CADAVRE. In the same year he switched to directing: CE QU'IL RESTERA DE NOUS won the 2012 Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. In the same year Vincent is Artist in Residence at the Ménagerie de Verre in Paris. As part of the Étrange Cargo festival, he presented the show "En manque", based on Sarah Kane's Manque. In 2015 he staged DOM JUAN & SGANARELLE (Locarno, Competition 2016).
