Viktoria Schmid, born in Neuhofen Ybbs in 1986, is a visual artist and filmmaker who lives in Vienna and Lower Austria. She works and is interested in the interface between cinema and exhibition space. Schmid's works are presented nationally and internationally in exhibitions and at film festivals, including UA BELVEDERE 21 in Vienna, Kunsthaus Graz, Toronto International Film Festival, Diagonale Film Festival (opening film 2023), International Film Festival Rotterdam and FID Marseille. She studied at the Friedl Kubelka School, film studies at the University of Vienna and time-based media at the University of Art and Design Linz. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the Recognition Award for Fine Arts from the Province of Lower Austria (2019), the Provincial Scholarship for Photography (2022) and the Austrian Short Film Award at Vienna Shorts (2023).
