Born in 1946 in Paris. Works as an editor and critic for the "Cahiers du cinema". Bonitzer is one of the most prolific writers in France and writes for, among other things André Téchiné, Jacques Rivette and Chantal Akerman. From 1986 to 1994 he directs the script department at the Paris film school La Fémis.
