Matthew Lax is a maker of video, film and installation work. Artifice and construction are mined through a multi-disciplinary analysis of language. His practice grapples with the creation of meaning and empathy through the formal and political intersections of melodrama, propaganda and advertising.
He is a recent graduate of the MFA program from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) through the School of Film/Video and Center for Integrated Media. Lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
