Ingrid Caven, born in 1938, in Saarbrücken, German chanson singer and actress.
Studying psychology and education, working as a teacher. 1968 acquaintance with Rainer Werner Fassbinder, with whom she is married 1970-72. In addition to her work with Fassbinder she is also acting in films of Werner Schroeter (including THE DEATH OF MARIA MALIBRAN, DAY OF THE IDIOTS) and Daniel Schmid (including LA PALOMA, SHADOWS OF ANGELS).
From the mid-1970s, she started a second career as a chanteuse.
The biographical novel "Ingrid Caven" her partner Jean-Jacques Schuhl 2000 wins the prestigious French Prix Goncourt.
