Gala Hernández López is an artist, filmmaker, and producer. Her films are born out of research processes and blend materialist critique, documentary elements, dreamlike imagery, and speculative fiction; they have been presented at Cannes, Berlinale, Rotterdam, IDFA, Cinéma du Réel, the Berlinische Galerie, C/O Berlin, Jeu de Paume and the Palais de Tokyo. Her film LA MÉCANIQUE DES FLUIDES won the César Award for Best Documentary Short Film in 2024. With her project LES ANIMAUX MAGNÉTIQUES, which will be her first feature-length fiction film, she has participated in Ikusmira Berriak, the RUEDA program at the Spanish Film Academy, Nipkow, the Locarno Residency, and ECAM Forum.
