Florentina Holzinger studied choreography at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. Her graduation solo "Silk" won the Prix Jardin d'Europe at ImPulsTanz Festival 2012. Between 2011 and 2015, she worked with Vincent Riebeek on a trilogy of pieces. While still touring worldwide, "Tanz" (2019) received numerous awards, including the Austrian theatre prize "Nestroy" in the category "Best Direction." For Ruhrtriennale 2021, Holzinger created "Eine göttliche Komödie." Her work "Ophelia's Got Talent" (2022) was created as artist-in-residence at Volksbühne Berlin. Her first opera project, "Sancta," premiered in 2024, and she took on her first leading film role in MOND (2024) by Kurdwin Ayub, which won the Special Jury Prize at the renowned Locarno Film Festival. In 2026, she represented the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale with "Seaworld Venice" and presented the extensive multi-hour performance "Pfingstspiel" at the Wiener Festwochen.
