Born in 1967 in Bucharest, Romania. Studied painting and directing at the École Supérieure d'Art Visuel in Geneva. In 2001, he directed his feature film debut STUFF AND DOUGH. In 2005 the award winning work THE DEATH OF MR LAZARESCU (Viennale 05) follows. In 2010 he directed AURORA (Viennale 10).
