Born in 1984 in Iasi, Romania.
Studied journalism and communication studies, worked in Bucharest as a reporter for Antena 3, and received several awards.
In 2008 Stratan moved to acting and studied at the National University of Theatre and Film "IL Caragiale "(UNATC) in Bucharest. During their training Stratan played her first roles in short films. Her feature film debut was in Cristian Mungiu DUPA DEALURI (2012) for which she received the Best Actress Award at Cannes.
