Born in Mexico in 1941. Filmmaker, cameraman, and photographer, lives in Berlin. Studied theater science at the University of Arizona and at the DFFB. From 1970 he worked as a freelance cameraman. From 1989 to 2006 he was the professor for theory of audiovisual design and realization at the UDK. In addition to his early works like CHIP GETS HIS DIPLOMA, GREEN BERET, DE OPPRESSO LIBER, HASKELL WEXLER, KAMERAMANN and ADELBERT'S DILEMMA, he is involved in numerous films as director, cameraman or actor.
