Studied film directing, journalism/communication sciences, and German language and literature at the Universities of Salzburg and Vienna and at the Vienna Film Academy. Further training in anthroposophical art and education (1994-1996, Vienna and Kassel, Germany), memory theater, and psychodrama (2011, Vienna and Craiova, Romania)
From 1996 to 2002, she worked at Waldorf schools as a teacher of German, history, and art history, as well as a director of theater projects with young adults, and worked in adult education (art education, German as a foreign language instruction).
Angela Summereder has two sons, born in 1983 and 1988.
