Born in 1950 in Haifa, is an Israeli director and screenwriter. Gitai studies architecture in Haifa and Berkeley. In 1973, he took part in the Yom Kippur War as a soldier. First films in the early 1970s. Two of his television films are not aired because of "pro-Palestinian" attitudes.
