It has been a life-long dream for middle-aged Xu Daqin to go to Yunnan, a province near Tibet. Xu had the chance to work there when he was young, but an affair with a girl pushed him into marriage with her and kept him in the north. From time to time, he imagines how different his life would be if he had lived in Yunnan. After much effort, Xu finally gets to Yunnan. But the kind-hearted man unwittingly ends up in a complicated matter with a prostitute and is taken into police custody. «Out of some personal need, I wanted to tell this story for my parents generation, but I ended up realizing it could also be the story of my own generation.
