Who Killed Cock Robin? is set in present-day Butte, Montana: a town whose present is poisoned by its mining past. Butte is home to Barrett Murphy, and his life reflects his origins. For he, too, has a past that haunts him. Still, he has built a life for himself with a modest home, a menial job, and a family of sorts. Among them are Dylan, his friend since childhood, and Charlie, his landlord. But when Barrett makes one simple error in judgement, his life begins to unravel. He, like the town, has little margin for error. Blurring the lines between reality and fiction, Who Killed Cock Robin? represents a striking reaffirmation of the neo-realist impulse. In a style ruggedly individualistic as it is poetic, it creates a stirring portrait of life in a forgotten corner of Bushs America.
