UNTITLED NEW YORK

Of the countless possibilities of capturing the atmospheric mood of New York, Jem Cohen has caught transcendent moments of tranquility, pleasure and curiosity in Untitled New York, one of three proposals for this year's VIENNALE Trailer. Instead of showing the frantic pace and crowds, he develops his snapshots like melodies. Without fail, one begins to ask what the day will bring for the inhabitants; or the city for the tourists that discover it. Or simply the sunlight that finds its way into the canyons between the buildings. A cinematic haiku set to music by Andy Moor.

This film will be screened together with Europa 2005, 27 Octobre and Profit Motive and the Whispering Wind.
