TRUE STORIES
David Byrne stars as the films narrator, a talkative fellow who invites the viewer along for the ride as he arrives in Virgil, Texas, just in time for the towns 150th Anniversary of «specialness.» He introduces us to the more colorful members of the population: Mr. Fyne, a big lug who so desires to experience holy matrimony, he has a «Wife Wanted» sign posted on his front lawn; Miss Rollings, an incredibly lazy woman who has so much money, she feels she has no need to get out of bed; the lying woman, who makes such wild claims as saving the «real-life Rambo» and writing «Billie Jean»; the Culvers, a happily-married couple who havent spoken to each other in years; and a preacher who turns his sermons into huge musical numbers.
