Documentary auteur Victor Kossakovsky, one of the finest filmmakers in the world, shot scenes from his window in St. Petersburg for a year. As the seasons change, lovers drunkenly embrace, men walk dogs and people quarrel while the street is continually ripped up in a vain attempt to fix the neighbourhoods water system. Its a unique take on the celebrations surrounding the 300th anniversary of the city of St. Petersburg but obviously has a wider point of view.
