Tattoo Vorhanden
The project began with a proposition from ATG making a film with a ten million yen budget. Ôshima Nagisa had recommended Takahashi, but ATG was not fully satisfied with the script he handed in. Takahashi then suggested <i>Tattoo ari</i>, one of his favorite works, as ATGs next project. Although ATG had its suspicions that the project would not be able to stay within the proposed budget, it was given the green light. One of the most important points for Takahashi in making the film was how he could depict the story without including any scenes inside the bank. If this proved to be impossible his intention was to set all the scenes in the bank, the issue would be how to cut it. Looking back on the completed work, Takahashi says that as with his past directing jobs on sexploitation movies, he was able to successfully stick to his principles by remaining detached from the work.
