The enthusiasm, with which every single scene was photographed, is worth mentioning: the tundra shepherd eating raw reindeer meat, or the streetcar in Leningrad or the Kirghiz proudly holding an eagle in his arms. The project was a kind of advertising film for Soviet foreign trade, but with Vertov as director it became a futuristic film poem. The images flow rhythmically; fascinating shots from all corners of the Soviet Union; and the intertitles are having a staccato-like dialogue with the audience: "I see ...", "You, who ..."
