Böttcher shot this film with women from a chemical collective combine. It contains some beautiful images studies of working women, concentrated, cheerful, exuberant faces. The main figure, though, is a party secretary, Mr. Grimmer, a figure specific to GDR feature films: a party official, friendly, down-to-earth, likable, a man searching for the human dimension of socialism.
