Böttcher, the painter, works with magnificent black and white images. The line patterns of the railroad tracks, the shunting locomotives, the open goods trucks moving slowly towards to the camera: graphic elements which turn the everyday reality of a switching station into a surreal world of pictures and premonitions. Hammering, boots crunching on gravel, whistling, shunting noises. No commentary, no talking. There is nothing to say.
