On the south-western edge of Rome spreads a one-kilometer long, ramshackle concrete building: the so-called Corviale housing estate, constructed between the mid-70ies and early 80ies, a symbol of a doomed architectural utopia. Some 8,000 people live in this monumental, city-like «Palazzo» that sits in an empty landscape like a monolith.
