Nadja, American with Yugoslavian roots, presents and comments her Paris. She strolls through the middle-class/intellectual St. Germain des Près, discusses with the artistic bohemians on Montparnasse in crowded cafés, eats and drinks with workers in Belleville. In his Europe debut cameraman Nestor Almendros falls in love with light and movement, he follows Nadja, runs with her, gets up with her at the sights, almost loses her out of his sight and thereby draws an own image of the city.
