In 1970, ATG witnessed the feature debut of the enormously talented TV director Jissôji Akio. It all started with his 30 minute short Yoiyami semareba (When Twilight Draws Near, 1969) which he had directed independently while he was still working for TBS. It was shown as a double feature together with Tôkyô sensô sengo hiwa (The Man Who Left His Will on Film) by
Ôshima Nagisa who had also written the script for Jissôjis short. Mujô was scripted by Ishidô Toshirô and was shot near Kyôto.
