Nacht ist jung
, 125min, OmdU
After the violent death of a gangster his two former accomplices want to convince his son to assist them in their next raid. They are searching for the dangerous virus “Mauvais Sang” which is stored in a laboratory and attacks people who are sleeping with each other, without loving each other.
For Léos Carax this strange starting point is more of a pretext than real plot of his film. Mauvais Sang is what could be called a post-modern gangster movie, a story about love, violence and betrayal, a stylish, dark blistering mixture of \"Alphaville\" and \"Diva\", telling about the sense of time of a deflated generation. In those years \"Mauvais Sang\" was repeatedly seen as a parable, a cinematic symbol for AIDS which seemed to become an always growing threat to society.
