This Special Program, a cinematographic contribution to the current exhibition
«Hommage à Antonin Artaud» at the Museum Moderner Kunst, will reveal the surrealist Artaud in a cinematic context.
The selection of films with Artaud as actor and screenwriter, as well as documentary footage of the artist illuminate his changeable relationship with the cinema, which was punctuated by moments of wonderful production and desperate love.
A reading of selected texts Artaud wrote on cinema by Ignaz Kirchner will supplement this program.
