Los ladrones viejos: Las leyendas del Artegio is the story of a generation of thieves who achieved their greatest victories in the Sixties; their distinctive code of ethics, the various «categories» of delinquents inhabiting the city's streets, their alliances with high ranking police officials that allowed them to operate, the betrayals that followed, and the price they ended up paying. Everardo González tells the story of «El Carrizos», a legend among Mexico's thieves and outlaws for having robbed the house of Mexico's President Echeverria in the Seventies. Gonzalez blends archival footage from Mexico City with interviews with «El Carrizos» and his band of merry robbers, all of whom are as charming and mischievous in old age as anyone could hope to be.
