A slick and stylish, special-effects driven version of the popular manga, Yamazaki Takashi’s wonderfully crazy film follows the misadventures of Tokyo teenager Izumi, who has to try and co-exist with a mutant parasite that takes control of his right arm. Meanwhile, more evil-minded parasites start causing havoc, and this bumbling teen (and the parasite that he names ‘Righty’) must try and stop the alien invasion. Part horror and part superhero buddy story, it is a wild movie ride. (Edinburgh Film Festival)
