Five lovely girls on the threshold of womanhood, like cats perched on the window sill, dreaming of escape from their drab Incheon hometown to the bright lights of Seoul. Bonds are made. Secrets are exchanged. Loyalties shift. Aspirations differ. People drift apart, or come of age. Such is the nature of female friendship. Sparkling humour, fluid cinematography, a chic and upbeat tone translates into a successful formula. The directors feminine eye for adorable personality traits and cute mannerisms marks a refreshing entry to the thriving youth scene in Korean cinema. (Jonathan Brown)
